Alright, everyone. We’ve made it. We’ve made it to the day of the Iron Bowl. Remember a few years ago when this game was the day after Thanksgiving? How weird was that? Today, we’re right on with the game of the day on CBS and what should be the biggest audience for the SEC on CBS all season long.
No big deal today, right? Not much at stake. Just a couple of things.
Only the SEC West.
And maybe the SEC.
And maybe a berth in the College Football Playoff.
Oh, and the bragging rights that come with a hard-earned win in the Iron Bowl rivalry.
And an end to the three-game losing streak that we’re currently on, which would prevent this senior class from being the first group of Auburn seniors to fail to beat Alabama since the 1981 team.
We’ve got as good a chance as we’ve had against Alabama in quite some time. We match up well, we’ve got the home field advantage, the battle-hardened group, and some good momentum after that win over Georgia two weeks ago.
As if you’d be able to escape this game and be doing anything else today.
