Boom! 2020 RB Deondre Jackson Commits to Auburn!

The Tigers just landed their 2nd commit of the day and their 2nd commit of the 2020 class.

Busy day right?

Earlier today, Auburn landed Australian punter Arryn Siposs. This evening, the Tigers added their second commitment of the day and now their second commitment of the 2020 class when RB Deondre Jackson announced on Twitter he was committing to the Tigers.

Jackson already holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Ohio State so while he doesn’t currently have a rating by any of the recruiting services, it’s clear this kid is expected to be a big time prospect. The 6’0” 195 lb running back out of Lithonia, GA is teammates with 2018 Auburn commit 4* OL Jalil Irvin. Oddly enough, he has two other 2020 teammates that are both expected to be highly rated and they have each committed to an SEC school in recent weeks. DB Javier Morton to Alabama and DL Nazir Stackhouse to Georgia. I suspect there will be a lot of trash talk in that locker room over the next couple of years.

Highlights

Scouting Report

For those Auburn fans pining for bigger, more physical running backs, here’s your guy. Jackson isn’t going to dazzle you with breakaway speed but he’s big, strong and physical with great vision. There’s no wasted movements or unnecessary razzle dazzle in his running style. This kid gets north and south as quickly as possible and he isn’t afraid to run over a few guys along the way. I would not be surprised to see him play somewhere around 6’1” 215 lbs at the next level. He’s got a ton of upside and will be a fun player to watch develop over the next couple of years.

The Class

It’s hard to get too excited over kids that are currently halfway through their sophomore years of high school but Auburn is off to an outstanding start in the 2020 class. Both DE Andy Boykin and Jackson will be highly rated recruits in the 2020 cycle and are outstanding foundational pieces to a recruiting class. Now Auburn just has to hang on to them for two more years.

War Eagle Deondre!
