3* WR Shedrick Jackson is Bo Jackson’s nephew. There, got that out of the way. Expect to hear that tidbit every single time Jackson’s name is called on Saturdays. Which is honestly understandable given Bo’s legendary status not only among the Auburn Family but in the sport’s world as well.
But Shedrick is looking to make his own way at Auburn. The 6’2” 195 lb wideout from Hoover, AL was outstanding his senior season. He had 48 catches for 979 yards and 9 touchdowns helping lead his Hoover Bucs to another state championship. Any illusions that this was a kid Auburn only offered because of his uncle are destroyed when watching this kid play. He’s the real deal and today he becomes an Auburn Tiger.

Where Jackson really excels is as a deep threat. “He can take the top off of the defense” is a fancy way of saying Jackson is going to consistently catch 40+ passes on your defense so you better be ready. He’s got a great combination of size, speed and hands that makes him tough to handle on the outside.
This is a kid that seems to get better every time he steps onto the football field. Over the past months he’s turned a number of skeptics into believers and now begins his collegiate career as an Auburn Tiger. Not only is he an early enrollee but he’s already moved in on campus and expected to practice with the team this week. I expect a lot of Joey Gatewood bombs to Shedrick Jackson in Auburn’s future.
War Eagle Shedrick!
