Tigers Sign 3-Star Offensive Lineman Kameron Stutts

Longtime instate commit Kameron Stutts has signed his letter of intent with Auburn.

One thing Auburn has done a really good job of recruiting and developing under Gus Malzahn are guards. Alex Kozan, Braden Smith, Mike Horton and Marquel Harrell are all big, strong, powerful lineman who excel at opening holes in the run game. In a few years, I expect 3* OL Kameron Stutts to be another name to add to that list.

Stutts honestly reminds me an awful lot of Horton coming out of high school. Originally an offensive tackle, Horton eventually transitioned to guard. Horton took a redshirt to put on some muscle in 2015 and then worked on the 2nd team in 2016. This season, he ended up Auburn’s starting left guard to start the season before injuries sidelined him late. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the same type of journey unfold for Stutts over the coming seasons.

Stutts is a large man at 6’4” 330 lbs though I believe he will need a year or so to drop some bad weight and add more muscle. But he plays with an edge that I love, always looking to finish his blocks and unafraid to put some defenders on their butts. He plays a bit high but that’s not unusual for a kid coming out of high school. Given Auburn’s current situation at guard with Horton and Harrell returning, Stutts should have time to grow and develop. I am really excited about this kid’s potential.

War Eagle Kameron!
