Three Star Defensive Tackle Tyrone Truesdell Signs With Auburn

Auburn’s first previously uncommitted signee of the day provides some depth along the defensive line. Tyrone Truesdell, 3* DT out of Augusta, Georgia, visited Auburn last weekend and committed this morning. My understanding is that it was a sort of wait-and-see game as to how many scholarships Auburn would have available, because it wasn't clear if he would actually receive an offer until he committed this morning. If I had to guess, once it was made clear Tyler Taylor was going to LSU, Truesdell was given a scholarship.

At 6’3”, 335 lbs, Truesdell provides great size on the interior of the line. He ranks as the #37 DT in the country and #48 player in the state of Georgia according to 24/7, and also was being recruited pretty hard by Florida, Clemson, and South Carolina. Judging by a few of his highlight reels, Truesdell has no problem getting off blocks on the inside or pushing the opposing lineman all the way into the backfield. I would expect him to redshirt this year with all of the depth returning on the defensive line, but he could become a big contributor down the road for the Tigers. Don’t forget this name.

War Eagle, Tyrone! Welcome to Auburn.
