BREAK TIME
First off, this is going to be limited. There are only going to be a few Link Sausage posts for the next two weeks, probably. After over 2.5 years of keeping a 2+ article per day post count for a site that essentially pays its editors enough to buy groceries once a month, I'm exhausted and need a short break and, honestly, as much as I love writing about Auburn and interacting with the folks around these parts, that's just not enough for me to care 24/7/365.
Signing Day is over with and we're two weeks from spring football starting. I've got an article per weekday on the "Post-Signing Day Position Analysis scheduled to publish every day between now and next Friday other than Tuesdays when we play basketball. Those I have set for Basketball only. So, the site isn't going to go dark. There will still be content, and there will still be basketball and breaking news covered by others. I'll probably still be commenting because I can't stay away completely, and I may even still write something if something big comes up, but maybe not.
BASKETBALL
It was a bad weekend all around. First, there was the abomination of a second half against Ole Miss. Then, there was the ladies team unable to make baskets and falling to UGA.
SOFTBALL
The bats still need some work, but overall it wasn't a bad weekend down in Mexico for a very young Auburn Softball team. They opened 1-1 (and had every chance to be 2-0) against Oklahoma and Washington. Friday morning saw a very close game against Nebraska that ended with a 3-2 victory. They closed the tournament Saturday with a shutout victory over BYU to finish the weekend 3-1. They return home for the home opener this Thursday at 6 pm Central against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
FOOTBALL
The Tigers have hired the replacement for Scott Fountain with naming North Carolina's Larry Porter as H-backs/TE coach.
In former Tiger news, some draft projections have Montravius Adams going to the Falcons. I, for one, would absolutely love that.
In recruiting news, you may have noticed how much AUNerd loves posting and talking about recruiting. Well, we need someone like that to cover recruiting. Especially since I don't enjoy it. So, I'm happy to say, I reached out to him and he's going to write about recruiting for us as an official site writer and not just as FanPosts. Hopefully, we'll be able to get some more regular recruiting things going on this site in the future.
