Good morning and Eireann go Brach to all of you with Irish heritage out there! This is your St. Paddy's Day edition of the Link sAUsage. St. Patrick's Day on a Friday. This will end well, I'm certain.
UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT
Talk about a quiet search. Auburn's Board of Trustees will hold a vote Monday for the new President. I haven't even heard a name mentioned. The meeting is at 10:00 am Central in the Student Center ballroom.
BASEBALL
The Tigers take on the Gators in a three-game series to start SEC play this afternoon. Our preview will be up just after 10 am Central (unless something big happens that bumps it).
BASKETBALL
The ladies play the first round of the NCAA Tournament today against NC State. The game begins at 11:00 am Central time. You can read all about it here on the official site. I'm sorry I didn't have the time to write any sort of preview for that game, but I've barely been able to keep up with what I have put on the site, much less add more. Hopefully, they'll make it to Round 2 over the weekend. Then maybe I'll have a chance to drive up to Austin to see a game.
Bruce Pearl isn't one to shy away from expectations. While providing TV work for the Men's Tournament, Bruce said he expects to be coaching in it, next year.
Charles Barkley chose Auburn over Notre Dame thanks to where he thought he could get a better education and LOL TAKE THAT, IRISH. ON ST. PADDY'S DAY, TOO.
GYMNASTICS
The Tigers are ranked 21st in the nation and will be taking part in the afternoon session of the SEC Tournament this weekend. The afternoon session is never one you really want to be in, unfortunately, but this is a young squad who has done a lot of learning this year.
FOOTBALL
How have the Tigers' players and coaches spent Spring Break? All sorts of ways. Some are working, some are playing, some are serving others.
