Auburn lost a lot of key cogs from last year's offensive line. There have been questions all spring about who is going to play in which positions. We have been looking at the likelihood of a redshirt or true freshman starting at one of the tackle spots. Braden Smith will likely jump out to tackle on the right side, with Mike Horton taking his Guard spot. The other Guard position - vacated by Alex Kozan - has been up in the air. I'm still fairly confident Herb Hand can and will get the best five on the field, but now we've added a bit more experience to the competition, too.
This afternoon, Wilson Bell - a graduate transfer from Florida State - announced that he will be coming to Auburn. 247Sports was the first with the news.
Bell has played in plenty of games for the Seminoles including most of the last two seasons. He's 6'5, 316 lbs, and was a composite 3* when he chose Florida State over Auburn and Ole Miss in early 2013 shortly after Gus Malzahn first took over at Auburn as head coach. He is originally from Eight Mile, AL.
It's near impossible to predict what Auburn's offensive line will look like this Fall. What we can do is say that there will be plenty of players to choose from. Bell is the second graduate transfer on the offensive line after FCS All-American Center Casey Dunn from Jacksonville State. Those two will provide a good bit of experience to choose from if needed.
