For most of the week, it was thought that Auburn would have a quiet A-Day weekend on the recruiting trail. That has not been the case at all. Instead, the Tigers nabbed a graduate transfer from Florida State yesterday and now have landed one of the nastiest blockers in this cycle in 3* OT Kameron Stutts. The talented offensive lineman out of Killen, AL chose Auburn over from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech and others. He announced his commitment on Twitter this afternoon.
Stutts commitment gives Auburn five total in the 2018 class and their second offensive lineman joining 4* OG Jalil Irvin. He also becomes Auburn’s first in-state commit of this cycle.
Highlights
Scouting Report
I have said it before but Stutts might have my favorite OL tape. He’s a big kid that loves contact and delivers some serious blows when pulling across the line. He’s got a large frame and moves incredibly well for his size. Not only does he play OG and OT for his high school team but he doubles as a nose tackle as well and causes some mayhem from that position as well. He will play on the OL at the next level though it’s not clear if that will be at guard or tackle. Either way, the Tigers have nabbed a very talented instate OL that can help Auburn in a variety of ways down the road.
The Class
Stutts is Auburn’s 5th commitment of the season. The Tigers are now 17th in the nation and 3rd in the SEC behind LSU and Texas A&M. It’s still very early in this recruiting cycle, though. Very early.
