Hey, did anything in sports related to Auburn happen this weekend? No? Nothing? I guess we can just...
Oh, wait, a TON of stuff happened this weekend. So, let's get to the links!
Also, WHEN DID IT GET TO BE MAY!?!?!? On the one hand, I want the year to slow down. On the other hand, May is one month closer to September and football.
BASEBALL
Talk about a huge weekend for the Tigers. For the second weekend in a row, Auburn went up against the team leading the SEC in the standings without ace pitcher Casey Mize. All they did was sweep the Saturday doubleheader to win the series. With that, our Auburn Tigers are now tied atop the SEC standings.
SOFTBALL
Our ladies also took on Mississippi State this weekend. This was a different team, though. The baseball Tigers faced the best. The softball Tigers faced one of the lower-level teams. So, they swept them. It's nice to see the Tigers do what we expect them to do.
In the process of the weekend, Kasey Cooper had a really big day Sunday by setting the SEC record for career RBIs.
TRACK AND FIELD
The men's 4x400 relay team blew away the competition at the Penn Relays.
FOOTBALL
The NFL Draft was this weekend. Maybe you heard about that. I could link to every single thing we published on the subject, but instead, I'll just give you the link to the story stream that contains links to them all.
OK, I kinda lied. I'm going to link to one of the draft stories because I'm still thrilled that Josh Holsey was drafted. After all his knee injuries, he's still a fantastic player and deserves a shot.
