Fresh off a series victory over Ole Miss, Auburn once again takes on the Rebels in the first game in Hoover for the SEC Tournament in baseball Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers and Rebels will start at 4:30 pm Central time on the SEC Network. Here's our recap of this past weekend's series if you missed it.
All games during the Tournament will be broadcast on The Network, so that's a quick go-to if you're wondering how to watch throughout the week. They will also, of course, be on WatchESPN to stream if you can't get to a TV. Here's a glimpse at the complete bracket:
An interactive version is available on the SEC's official site.
Auburn should have a spot in the NCAA Tournament already locked up, but it's obvious that Butch Thompson isn't taking any chances given his choice of pitcher for Game 1. Keegan Thompson will go to the mound on a very short rest after pitching 6 hitless innings against the Rebels Friday night. Hopefully, they still haven't figured him out and he'll be in full form. There's no word yet on if Casey Mize will pitch in any games in the SEC Tournament, but Butch Thompson has said it's possible he'll be available.
Should the Tigers win, they'll take on Florida who Auburn swept in the first SEC series of the season. After the first round, the Tournament goes into double-elimination. So, should Auburn win the first one, they're guaranteed to play at least three games and should be absolutely certain of a NCAA berth. Should they lose to Ole Miss, then the SEC Tournament is over and they'll await their fate for the NCAA Tournament with a little more trepidation.
