Auburn mustered all they could in a late rally last night/this morning but fell short of knocking off #1 seed Florida 5-4 in the wee hours of the 25th. Now, they'll have to play the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Arkansas had an early lead on Mississippi State and looked to be in the driver's seat, but Brent Rooker did Brent Rooker things and tied it in the 9th before the Bulldogs ultimately pulled out the win. With that, Arkansas had to refocus and get ready to play their second game of the day.
Auburn announced Tuesday that Davis Daniel would be held for today's game. Daniel is a normal starter for Auburn who has really started to come on in a big way as the season progressed. He started Auburn's loss to Arkansas in their regular season series but did not pick up the L for his record. When Daniel was pulled after 5 innings pitched, the game was tied at 3. The Tigers ultimately fell in that game 7-3. They did take the series, though, with a 15-2 thrashing in Game 1 and an 11-6 Game 3.
Arkansas is expected to start Dominic Taccolini, whom Auburn did not face in that early season series. Taccolini is 4-1 for the season with a 5.01 ERA.
How to Watch
Auburn and Arkansas will take the field on SEC Network 30 minutes after the end of South Carolina and Mizzou. That game is currently in the Top of the 6th. Auburn's game was due to start at 4:30 Central, but it's looking more likely that it'll be closer to 5:00 pm Central. Should Auburn win, they will face the loser of the Mississippi State and Florida game, so there's a chance Auburn could see the Gators again. Should the Tigers fall, that will be it for the SEC Tournament and we'll await the NCAA Tournament reveal.
