The Tigers added a new player to the fold with the commitment of Samir Doughty of VCU. The transfer put up pretty good numbers in his redshirt freshman campaign. The 6'4 Doughty averaged 9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

Doughty has already used his redshirt season, so he's going to lose a year of eligibility sitting out this coming 2017-18 season. He'll be available to play for the Tigers in the 2018-19 season.
One other promising bit from Doughty's commitment is this little nugget:
S/O coach Steve Pearl, one of the coolest coaches I met in a long time.

This is the first real word from a recruit on how Steven Pearl is handling his new duties as an on-court and recruiting coach. The first signs are definitely good, though! Doughty is a good pick-up on the transfer market.
