Less than *six* weeks until kickoff, so if you weren’t on the web Saturday, you missed some good Tuberville action. Lots of six-fingered waves around that day... quality stuff. As it stands now, this morning marks 40 days until the opener against Georgia Southern! So what’d you miss over the weekend?

It was a huge recruiting weekend on the Plains, as Auburn hosted some of the top players around the country. It paid dividends as well, with not one, but two big commitments landing for the Tigers over the weekend. Josh Marsh became Auburn’s 8th commit for this cycle, while they also picked up their first recruit for 2019 in George Pickens out of Hoover.

Even though it’s mid-July, Jane B. Moore Field was rocking to the sounds of softball once again over the weekend. The USA Softball Women’s National Team beat an Alabama All-Star team twice in a doubleheader on Saturday. The All-Stars featured four current Auburn Tigers and two former Tigers serving as coaches, however it was Team USA’s Kasey Cooper who provided most of the fireworks for the fans in attendance. has continued its series on early previews of each of Auburn’s opponents. With the Hugh Freeze news breaking out of Oxford late Thursday night, an early look at Ole Miss became a little more muddled, but James Crepea focuses on new head coach Matt Luke and what the impending NCAA troubles may mean in terms of a distraction for the Rebels.

And finally, the 50 most-watched sporting events thus far in 2017 were released over the weekend. Obviously, the Super Bowl topped the list with more than 111 million viewers, but Auburn did make the list as one of only three appearances for college football.

Before too long, we’ll be releasing a look at each position on the team as we lead up to fall practice, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, War Eagle and happy Monday!
