Nine Auburn players earn early pub.

The 2017 Preseason All-SEC teams were released just a little while ago, and Auburn placed nine players on the first, second, and third teams. For the full link, you can check out the SEC website and the official announcement here.

Coaches weren’t allowed to vote for their own players on the selection process, and the Tigers scored first team honors for Daniel Carlson at placekicker and Braden Smith on the offensive line.

Second team honors went to Kam Pettway at running back, Marlon Davidson and Dontavius Russell on the defensive line, Tre Williams at linebacker, and Tray Matthews and Carlton Davis at defensive back.

The lone third team selection for the Tigers was Kerryon Johnson at running back.

Alabama led the league with fifteen selections overall, including nine on the first team. Florida also finished with double-digit selections as the Gators picked up twelve players overall. Other ranked teams’ selections included Georgia with eight and LSU with seven, while Tennessee earned four overall selections.
