Of course it did. Of course the streak ended in Tuscaloosa.

Auburn played the sloppiest game all season, falling 76-71 to Alabama at Coleman Coliseum tonight. With the loss, the fourteen-game winning streak comes to a close, and the Tigers take their first loss in SEC play.

In the first half, Auburn managed to actually come out on top despite very little presence inside and a ton of turnovers and fouls. Auburn trailed 14-5 early, but got three threes from Bryce Brown and a buzzer-beating three from Chuma Okeke as the half ended and took a 33-30 lead into the locker room.

Out of the intermission, however, Alabama heated up from downtown, with John Petty hitting seven threes to eventually put the Tide up 55-43, for their biggest lead of the night. Alabama kept the margin near ten for the majority of the final few minutes, as Auburn played out of control and couldn’t hit shots in the second half.

John Petty scored 27 points to lead all scorers, while Auburn was led by Bryce Brown’s 12 points. Desean Murray added 11, while Jared Harper and Chuma Okeke each posted 10 points.

Auburn falls to 16-2 (4-1 SEC) and will continue rivalry week with Georgia this weekend at home at 5 pm CST.
