Auburn beat Texas A&M yesterday 28-24 to end the road-team-wins-always streak in the series, and hopefully reverse the butt fumble curse from 2014.
While the Aggies were ranked at the time of yesterday’s defeat, it doesn’t mean that the Tigers got enough clout to move up into the Top 25 just yet, having been pretty far down the list of “Also Receiving Votes” teams last week.
Over the last two weeks, 21 ranked teams have lost. See the full AP Top 25 here: https://t.co/jfkE4ZQ5Ce pic.twitter.com/9GK04n8Fv9

Here’s your AP top ten:
- Alabama
- Clemson
- Notre Dame
- Michigan
- Georgia
- Oklahoma
- West Virginia
- Ohio State
- LSU
- Washington State
Other SEC teams in the poll are Kentucky at #12, Mississippi State at #18, and Florida at #19. Auburn’s just outside looking in, right behind Utah in the “Receiving Votes” category. if you counted backward, the Tigers would be #27 in the AP.
The Coaches’ Poll is pretty similar, with the same top ten teams in a slightly different order:
- Alabama
- Clemson
- Notre Dame
- Michigan
- Georgia
- Oklahoma
- Ohio State
- West Virginia
- Washington State
- LSU
Kentucky is #12, Mississippi State #15, and Florida #21, with Auburn also sitting at #27 if you counted back that far in the Receiving Votes list.
So, it’s just like we drew it up. Auburn’s going to have road games against two top five teams to finish out the SEC schedule this year. First up, it’s Georgia next Saturday at 6 PM CST in Athens, and then the Iron Bowl comes the Saturday after Thanksgiving, with kickoff likely coming at 2:30 PM CST on CBS.
War Eagle!
