For most of his recruitment, 4* WR Anthony Schwartz looked like a lock to the Florida Gators, until he wasn’t... A coaching change, Auburn’s strong offensive performance on the field in 2017 and Kodi Burns’s persistence paid off for the Tigers in a big way come January. Schwartz announced on national tv during the Under Armour All-America Game that he planned on being a Tiger. Now he’s made it official.
#AuburnFast has been a tagline the Tigers have used since Gus Malzahn’s return to the Plains. No recruit better embodies that than Anthony Schwartz. The Florida native just might be the fastest prospect in the country. Last spring, he posted one the best 100 meter times in Florida high school history running a 10.15.
But Schwartz isn’t just track fast. He doesn’t lose much of that speed at all when he puts on his helmet and pads. Schwartz is the definition of a home run threat and if given any room at all can take it to the house.
Schwartz will not only suit up for Gus Malzahn’s squad next season but he will also join Auburn’s track program along with his buddy and fellow signee 4* RB Shaun Shivers. That’s a whole lot of speed coming to the Plains in 2018.
War Eagle Anthony!
