Auburn has very few spots left which means they have to be surgical about who and when they offer prospects. One guy that has been waiting all cycle is 3* ATH Cam Taylor. The talented Montgomery, AL native was being recruited by Auburn as a defensive back. The thought was if an Auburn offer came he would jump on board with the Tigers. It never came and Taylor is now a Cornhusker.

Now there’s a chance this announcement will mean nothing for Auburn and their remaining targets. There’s the possibility Auburn held off on offering Taylor no matter what happens with guys like Justyn Ross and Ja’Marr Chase because they want to leave a spot open for another graduate transfer option or have an extra scholarship available for 2019.
But there’s also the chance this could signal that Auburn expects some good news later today. If it’s to come, then it will be from the trio of 4* WR Justyn Ross, 4* WR Ja’Marr Chase or 4* DL Malik Langham. At this time, there is some positive buzz floating around Ross but I still think that’s an uphill climb. Chase seems locked in to LSU but so did Surtain for much of his recruitment. You can also never count out Rodney Garner on signing day.
This afternoon should be real interesting for Tiger fans. Auburn should receive some good news from 3* DL Caleb Johnson around 1:30 CT. The question is will there be any other big booms? Could be another fun signing day for the Tigers.
