Yesterday, Auburn got some bad news when one of their top cornerback targets, 4* Christian Williams, committed to Alabama. So what do the Tigers do the next day? Snag a different top instate cornerback target. 3* Cordale Flott, who literally brought down Twitter with his commitment, announced Tuesday morning his plans to don orange and blue next season.

Flott doesn’t have the flashiest of ratings but look at that offer list. The Saraland, AL native holds over 20 offers including some from top SEC powers Alabama, Florida and Tennessee. Funny enough, he named the Gators his top school yesterday after visiting there this past weekend. That lead lasted all of one day apparently.

Scouting Report
You have to love this kid’s frame. He will need to bulk up but at 6’1” he’s got the length to matchup against some of the taller WRs in the SEC. Flott is a fluid athlete with quick hips and a really good ability to play the ball in the air without drawing a penalty flag. He’s also a solid tackler with the ability to shed blocks and make plays in the backfield. I have a sneaky suspicion that rating is gonna rise over this recruiting cycle. Auburn likes him at cornerback but he could also play safety if needed.
The Class
I don’t think anyone thought Flott was close to committing but I am sure the coaching staff is glad to have him on board early. The Tigers have made cornerback a major priority this cycle and Flott was a guy they started to hone in on a few months ago. Auburn’s recruiting is about to really pickup and there’s a very good chance someone like 4* ATH Jaylin Simpson could be joining Flott on the commitment list in the near future. That would give the Tigers two very talented CBs early this cycle. Could be a really exciting recruiting cycle for Auburn fans this year.
War Eagle Cordale!
