Going into the summer, the main question for Auburn Basketball fans was who was going to be the backup point guard next year. On Tuesday, we got that answer.
J’Von McCormick, one of the top Junior College Point Guards available in the country, has committed to Auburn and will have 2 years of eligibility, beginning next season.
The Katy, Texas native is 5’11’, 170 pounds and averaged 18.5 points, 6.4 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game last season at Lee Junior College, in Baytown, Texas.

McCormick is poised to become Auburn’s backup point guard and will replace Davion Mitchell, who transferred to Baylor earlier in the off-season. If needed, McCormick could also see minutes at the other guard spot as well. With the arrival of McCormick, Auburn can now go 2-deep at every position.
Point Guard - Jared Harper, J’Von McCormick
Shooting Guard - Bryce Brown, Samir Doughty
Point Forward - Danjel Purifoy, Malik Dunbar
Power Forward - Anfernee McLemore, Chuma Okeke
Center - Austin Wiley, Horace Spencer
Welcome to Auburn J’Von and War Eagle!
