I don’t really wanna talk about the 2015 season, it just wasn’t fun. All those high hopes turning into frustrating disappointment. So this post will be pretty quick. I mean it’s the weekend and I am sure you want to enjoy time with your family, not obsess over what has been Gus Malzahn’s worst season as Auburn’s head coach. So here’s the 77 yard touchdown and then we can move on with our lives.
Just when I was ready to give up on this game, Jason Smith made the play of the year. Smith was open but Jeremy Johnson’s pass is off the mark yet Smith is somehow able to knock it up in the air in front of himself, dodge a defender and complete the catch. Just like that, Auburn was only one score away again.
That score would never come....
I do wanna say that in this video you see two guys whose careers did not at all go the way they wanted, yet stuck it out at Auburn and never made a fuss in public. That’s rare these days. As fans, we have a tendency to judge players only by how they perform on Saturdays when in reality that’s just a short moment in their lives. I think it’s important to call out those guys who fight through adversity, represent our beloved university with class and cheer them on towards success in their post Auburn careers, even if they weren’t All-Americans on the field. So War Damn Jeremy and Jason, hope both of you guys are living happy lives away from the Plains.
77 days till kickoff! War Eagle!
