.....and NOW it’s football season.
Preseason polls and their validity are the much ballyhooed source of discussion these days, but there’s no denying that it’s fun to see where people believe your team stacks up in relation to everyone else.
And today, the Amway Coaches Poll has been released so that we can all pick it apart and talk about how these coaches don’t watch games and that their media relations lackeys are doing all the submissions for them.
Oh, and Auburn is #10 to start the year.
Surprise, surprise! Look who's back on top of the @AmwayUS Coaches Poll. Check out the complete preseason top 25: https://t.co/jGlsuqpc2z pic.twitter.com/3vjWCT883w

The Tigers will begin 2018 ranked in the top ten, and so the opening weekend will have a huge impact with Washington ranked 6th in preseason poll. Auburn will also play Alabama (1st), Georgia (4th), Mississippi State (18th), and LSU (24th). Of those games, Washington, MSU, Georgia, and Alabama will all happen away from the friendly confines of Jordan-Hare Stadium. It’s not an easy schedule.
Auburn’s likely in a good spot, not too high, but high enough to where you’re in striking distance of the top spots if you perform well. Man, a season-opening win over Washington would really help out, considering the rest of the top ten (aside from #8 Miami playing LSU) doesn’t have a challenge. A huge win over the Huskies would likely jump the Tigers a couple spots up just in time for a whole bunch of home games.
30 days to kickoff! War Eagle!
