Auburn vs LSU, everyone. This is when it gets weird. Really weird. True Detective Season One weird. Jordan-Hare Stadium will effectively turn into Carcosa this Saturday as one of the wildest rivalries over the last three decades renews for another year of weirdness. We’ve had it all — Earthquakes, Interceptions, Phantom Whistles, Fire, Cigars, Overly-Aggressive Band Geeks, Hurricanes, Goalposts, Slobberknockers, Comebacks — so don’t expect anything different this year. It’s going to be unexplainable. It has to be. It’s Auburn - LSU.
Still, the Tigers (ours) are much bigger favorites than many people expected they’d be. Both sides have wins over top ten teams, but some (all) have questions about the validity of one of those wins. LSU’s offense hasn’t been great, but it wasn’t last year either, and they still mounted a ridiculous comeback to beat us and keep that home winning streak alive.
We know that LSU’s talented, and we know that it won’t be easy. We can’t expect a 2014 outcome whenever we play these guys. That’s why we need that home crowd magic to help us out on the Plains this Saturday. Mort au violet et a l’or.
