How to Watch and Listen - #12 Auburn vs #18 Minnesota

Last game of the year, can’t hold anything back now.

NCAA Football: Alabama at Auburn John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

We get to see Gus Malzahn’s guys back in action for one final matchup before we have to dive into the glaring void of the offseason. This time, the Tigers check Minnesota off the list of teams that they’ve never played, and Auburn will have a chance to reach ten wins for the second time in three years with a victory tomorrow.

Minnesota had one of its best seasons in recent memory (and the modern era overall) with a 10-2 regular season, and they’ll be trying for eleven wins for the first time in more than a century. Auburn can turn the page toward next year with experience at the most important skill positions and some momentum despite big defensive losses that will come via the NFL Draft.

New Year’s Day seems like it used to be a little more football heavy. Tomorrow, there are only four games, but they’re all good matchups. Auburn may not be the featured game, since people will want to watch Michigan embarrass Alabama in the Capital One Bowl and send the Tide to a terrible offseason. Either way, there will be plenty of eyeballs glued to Tampa. Maybe to see which free appetizer they’ll get at Outback depending on which team wins, and also maybe to scout some of the premier talent coming out of college ball.

You don’t have anything better to do. It’s New Year’s. It’s made for football. Watch it.
