Auburn has been hot on the trail ever since Big Cat Weekend and got another big boost from this past weekend’s picnic event. 3* OT Jeremiah Wright pulled the trigger while on campus and then this afternoon 2021 QB Aaron McLaughlin went public with his pledge. Well Auburn isn’t slowing down just yet. 2022 DB Andre Stewart out of Marietta, GA has reportedly committed to the Tigers.
BREAKING: Auburn keeps its momentum from the picnic going with another commitment, this one from 2022 CB @andrestewartOS ...https://t.co/xCD0icsKtW— Jeffrey Lee (@JLeeAURivals) July 30, 2019
What jumps out pretty quickly on Stewart’s tape is the young man is not afraid of physicality. Sometimes young defensive backs aren’t up to the challenge of providing run support. Stewart is very much up to the task. Stewart also demonstrates the ability to quickly change directions, a vital aspect of playing cornerback at the next level. He’s quick too and has long arms already which makes you think he could still grow a bit more over the next couple of years. It’s easy to see why Auburn would love to get him on board early.
Stewart is the first “Boom” of the 2022 class. Obviously it’s hard to get too pumped about a commitment this early but it sure isn’t a bad thing either. The Marietta, GA native already holds four SEC offers including ones from LSU and Florida. That’s not very common for rising sophomores. In fact, Auburn’s only offered 4 cornerbacks in the 2022 class thus far. He’s now got a chance to establish himself as the leader of Auburn’s 2022 class.
War Eagle Andre!
