On Wednesday, I wrote about Auburn’s focus on the state of Texas this cycle, specifically on the offensive side of the ball. A big piece of that plan revolved around landing 4* QB Dematrius Davis. With Davis now committed, the hope is he can help bring other big time Texans into the fold.
Piece #2 might be about to fall into place and it’s a big one. Both figuratively and very much literally.
This evening, 4* OG Jaeden Roberts announced on Twitter he plans to commit Wednesday.
Roberts is teammates with Davis at North Shore. The 6’5” 340 lb mauler sports an impressive offer list and features a top group of Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU and Oklahoma State. However, earlier this week he told AuburnUndercover’s Keith Niebuhr that the Tigers, Tide and Cowpokes stand out.
LSU holds all the FutureCast picks on Rivals but it appears their focus has shifted elsewhere. This will likely come down to Auburn or Alabama. Given his relationship with Davis, Auburn’s recent strong push and the general vibes of this recruitment lately, I believe the Tigers are likely the team to beat. If that proves true, it would be another massive win for Jack Bicknell on the trail.
