Auburn road underdogs against Arkansas

Auburn has had an up and down start to the season. They've won all the games they were supposed to win, including one against LSU. However, they ran into Penn State and Georgia at the wrong times. Those two losses have made them look like a much worse team then they actually are.

Now they get to prove that. They took on an Arkansas team that has lost in back-to-back weeks after a strong start to the season. Auburn should be able to go in for the kill against a reeling Razorback team.

Auburn is just a slight underdog in this one. The Tigers are 4.5 point underdogs, and they're given +170 odds to win the game outright. That's an implied 37% chance to pull off the upset. Arkansas is given -189 odds, or an implied 65.4% chance to win the game.

Given that this is a road game, these odds are tight. Oddsmakers see a fight coming on Saturday.

Matchup History

Arkansas and Auburn have played each other 30 times in their history. Auburn has won 18 of those matchups. That includes each of the last 5 times these teams met. Auburn has also won 3 of the last 4 times these teams played in Fayetteville

Aside from Auburn's recent domination though, this series has been pretty even. In fact, Auburn's current 5 game win streak is the longest for either team in this rivalry.

Auburn isn't going to compete for an SEC title or a playoff spot this year. However, they can still play the role of spoiler. This week, that means putting an end to the magical season that Arkansas is having.

It doesn't hurt that a win over a ranked opponent should help Auburn get back into the AP voting and potentially set themselves up for a better bowl game this year.
