And here we go. Auburn has done odd year things, and we’re looking at a top fifteen showdown in College Station, where the Tigers have never lost a football game. Auburn took victories there in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019, with three of those wins coming over ranked teams, and two of them coming against Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks in Johnny Manziel and Kyler Murray.
The Tigers are decidedly improving week to week, and the win over Ole Miss could have turned into an absolute route with a few things swinging differently. Now, if Auburn can get through Texas A&M, it basically sets up a winner-take-all Iron Bowl for the SEC West. But first things first with a tough Aggie team that’s already beaten Bama.
It’ll be a battle of the run game, as both teams will try to predicate their strategies on stopping the run and making yardage in the run game, so this could end up coming down to which quarterback plays better. Do we get the wildly fun Bo we’ve seen since the Georgia State benching, or does Zach Calzada replicate his performance against the Tide? We’ll see. Buckle up, it’s a big one!
