Well it was a much longer wait then many people expected but Sharife Cooper is officially on his way to the NBA!
And he’s going home.....
The Atlanta Hawks drafted him with the 48th pick in tonight’s NBA Draft, much later than everyone anticipated. He along with Trae Young put up incredible numbers in their lone seasons in college as evidenced below.

Now after a season on the Plains, Cooper will return to Atlanta and will get to learn behind Trae Young and be a valuable piece for the Hawks bench.
And for the 48th pick, this is a steal for the Hawks.
In 12 games for Auburn last season, Cooper averaged 20.2 PPG and 8.1 APG. He burst onto the scene in league play scoring 26 and 28 in his first 2 games while dishing out 9 and 12 assists in those games respectively.
Congratulations Sharife and best of luck back home in Atlanta! War Eagle!
