One last look at Boobee

NCAA Football: Auburn at Texas A&M John Glaser-USA TODAY Sports

Over the years, we’ve done different countdowns to kickoff (or tipoff). This year, we’re putting a twist on the classic “Best Auburn Player to Ever Wear Each Number” list. Football is all about lighting up the scoreboard in 2021, so let’s take a walk down memory lane and review the last time a player in each uniform number put up points.

#28 — JaTarvious Whitlow

Game — Auburn vs Minnesota, January 1, 2020

You know, Gus brought us a lot of good times. You know what he also brought? Terrible performances in bowl games. Two dumb bowl wins in seven years; both of those wins were against teams so overmatched that Auburn couldn’t help but win.

Anyway, this one happened to be the last good look at Boobee we would see. Good ol WildBoobee.

#28 is currently only held by Jackson Billings, a walk-on receiver who has yet to see game action. I’m guessing Boobee might hang around on this list.
