Betting Line: LSU opened as a 4-point favorite, with the over-under set at 55.5 points. Since then, the line has shifted slightly in Auburn’s favor, sitting right now at 3.5 points, with the over-under at 54.5 points.

Well, here we go. Of course we couldn’t get ourselves any sort of daytime kick in Baton Rouge, or even the blessed morning road kick. Auburn has to wait until the latest possible time to deal with two decades of history, and it won’t be easy to get a victory. Every single year, and especially in Baton Rouge, this rivalry’s storylines write themselves, but this year the home winning streak for LSU almost takes a backseat to the quarterback situation at Auburn.

TJ Finley, LSU’s starting quarterback for much of last season, may end up being Auburn’s starting quarterback this Saturday night as he returns to Baton Rouge. We don’t know who Bryan Harsin will go with yet, but it’s clear that Finley commanded the energy of the team last week when he came in to spell Bo Nix in the second half against Georgia State. Wouldn’t that just be some poetic stuff if he beat LSU and broke the streak in Death Valley.

This one’s certainly appointment viewing.
