Auburn hosts Brown at Plainsman Park in the final non-conference series of the year, as the Tigers open SEC play next weekend against Vanderbilt. John Pawlowski's club is coming off a 6-3 win over Alabama in the Capital City Classic and hasn't had a losing weekend yet in 2013.

Last weekend

Eastern Illinois 11, Auburn 10

Shaky defense and a ninth-inning meltdown on the mound led to an inexplicable loss for the Tigers.

Auburn 14, Eastern Illinois 7

Auburn bounced back, taking an 8-1 lead early and blowing the game open in the eighth after EIU had cut the deficit to one run.

Auburn 8, Eastern Illinois 2

The Tigers took a shutout into the ninth inning, and despite a couple of runs allowed in the final frame, it was an all-around solid performance in the series finale.

Midweek

Auburn 6, Alabama 3

Auburn stayed perfect against Alabama in the Capital City Classic, improving to 5-0 all-time. Conner Kendrick provided a herculean effort out of the 'pen, and Garrett Cooper had a clutch base hit in the ninth inning.

Brown (1-3) at Auburn (9-3)

Dare we say, it may actually be a nice weekend of baseball weather? After three straight weekends of wintry conditions -- ahem, last Saturday's game against Eastern Illinois featured a snow shower -- the temperatures should be much more comfortable over the next few days. Friday night's game will be chilly, but Saturday and Sunday may be warm enough to -- gasp -- break out the short sleeves. And hey, it should be dry all weekend, too. Incredible.
