The Milwaukee Brewers selected Auburn first baseman Garrett Cooper in the sixth round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft on Friday. Cooper was the first Auburn player to go off the board.

Cooper led Auburn at the plate in 2013, hitting .354/.481/.540 with seven home runs, 37 RBIs and 31 runs scored, and he totaled 20 extra-base hits, including 12 doubles. He ranked seventh in the SEC in batting average, fifth in slugging and led the conference in on-base percentage. Cooper tied with two other players, including Auburn third baseman Damek Tomscha, for seventh in homers.
In the field, he committed eight errors and compiled a .985 fielding percentage. His 498 putouts ranked second in the conference.
