The SEC released it's preseason baseball coaches' poll Tuesday, and just like in the most recent football campaign, Auburn will be flying under the radar. The coaches picked the Tigers to finish seventh, dead last, in the Western Division.
Out of 91 possible points in the poll, Auburn received just 21, fewest of any team in the conference. LSU was narrowly picked to win the West over Mississippi State, even though the Bulldogs received one more first-place vote. Alabama and Texas A&M were tied for third, Arkansas was picked fifth and Ole Miss was sixth.
In the Eastern Division, South Carolina beat out Vanderbilt for the top spot. Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Missouri rounded out the picks.
The Gamecocks were selected as preseason favorites to win the conference title, receiving five votes. LSU received four votes, Mississippi State three and Vanderbilt one.
