Coming off a series win over a ranked Tennessee team, Auburn kept the momentum rolling with a 10-5 win over Kennesaw State Tuesday night at Plainsman Park. After a 6-6 start to the season, the Tigers have now won 12 of their last 14 games.

After a scoreless first, Auburn opened the scoring with four runs in the bottom of the second inning. Daniel Robert singled to drive in Ryan Tella, who led off with a single and stole second, and with two on and two outs, Sam Gillikin doubled to left center, scoring Robert and Dan Glevenyak. Jordan Ebert singled to left to bring in Gillikin. The Tigers (18-8) added two more in the third thanks to a leadoff home run from Tella and a two-out RBI single from Keegan Thompson.

With Auburn holding a comfortable 6-0 lead, the Owls (12-16) fought back in the top of the sixth. Kennesaw put up four hits in the inning and reached on two walks, and Auburn provided a little extra help with an error and an astonishing six wild pitches -- one from Trey Wingenter, four from Jacob Milliman and one from Daniel Koger. When it was finally over, the Owls had cut the lead to 6-5.

However, Auburn bounced back with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. After a Thompson ground out, Gillikin walk and Ebert single, Damon Haecker singled to right, scoring Gillikin from second base. Ebert scored from third on a squeeze bunt from Connor Short. The Tigers capped the scoring in the eighth. Thompson and Gillikin singled to start the inning, Ebert advanced them to scoring position with a sacrifice bunt and Haecker came through again with another two-RBI single.

Gillikin led the Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI. Haecker was 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Wingenter (1-0) picked up the win after allowing three runs on nine hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five innings. Kendall Hawkins (0-1) took the loss for the Owls. Hawkins gave up four runs -- one earned -- on four hits and a walk in two innings. He struck out three.

Auburn returns to SEC action Thursday night against Missouri. Senior right-hander Dillon Ortman will take the mound, and first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. The game will air on ESPNU.
