Carlton Davis was a longtime Ohio State commit until he announced he was not going to sign with the Buckeyes last week. This came soon after an official visit to Auburn. He is a part of the big haul out of South Florida that Travaris Robinson was able to bring on board to the Tigers, late.
Auburn needs cornerbacks, and Davis is definitely a good one. He has good size at 6'2", 184 lbs. That should definitely help him with covering the big receivers in the SEC.
Davis chose the Tigers over offers from Ohio State (to whom he was a previous commit), hometown Miami, Florida, and Texas. He officially visited the Hurricanes in December, and Ohio State back in November. Urban Meyer made a late push with an in-home visit, but Davis decommitted the same day.
Welcome to the Plains, Carlton. We will now have to do The Carlton with your every interception.
