Auburn picked up the defensive half of the Brothers Myers this afternoon when Jayvaughn Myers of Dade City, FL picked the Auburn Tigers to play college football for.
While some who don't follow recruiting closely may think Jayvaughn was offered a scholarship at Auburn in order to lure his brother, that is not the case. Jayvaughn has been a highly sought after prospect himself. He was once a Florida commitment and boasted offers from Alabama, Southern California, Michigan, and others. In the end it came down to Auburn and North Carolina, just as with his brother.
I like the film, here. He definitely seems to have an eye for the ball. Of course, these are highlights. Will he see the field in 2016? That's hard to say. Carlton Davis has a lock on one of the starting cornerback slots. There's an open position with Jonathan Jones having graduated, but there are also a number of other players waiting. Auburn signed a fantastic DB class last season, and redshirted one in Javarius Davis.
Whether he sees the field as a true freshman or not, I'm glad to have him on board. War Eagle, Jayvaughn!
