Roc Thomas, one of the top players in the Class of 2014 and a longtime Auburn commit, made his pledge to the Tigers official on Wednesday, National Signing Day. Thomas faxed in his National Letter of Intent, making him a member of Gus Malzahn's program.

Thomas, out of Oxford (Ala.) High School, is rated as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports composite, and listed as the 23rd-best player in the current recruiting cycle. He's ranked No. 4 among all running backs and No. 3 among players from the state of Alabama. He committed to Auburn on Aug. 2, 2013, and despite a late push by Alabama and new Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, he stuck to his word.

Thomas stands 5'11 and weighs in at 196 pounds, and he runs a reported 4.48-second 40-yard dash. He held scholarship offers from 16 schools around the country and chose the Tigers over top programs such as 'Bama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Oregon, USC and UCLA.

Thomas is an explosive back -- he's been compared to Auburn great Carnell Williams -- and he put up obscene rushing numbers in his senior high school season, carrying 226 times for 2,211 yards and 32 touchdowns.
