Nicholas Ruffin, one of the top cornerbacks in the Class of 2014, made his pledge to the Tigers official on Wednesday, National Signing Day. Ruffin faxed in his National Letter of Intent, making him a member of Gus Malzahn's program.
Ruffin, out of St. Pius X (Ga.) High School, is rated as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports composite, and listed as the 116th-best player in the current recruiting cycle. He's ranked No. 10 among all cornerbacks and No. 8 among players from the state of Georgia. He committed to Auburn on May 25, 2013, and has remained solid since.R
Ruffin stands 6'1 and weighs in at 180 pounds, a bigger corner that Auburn has been lacking for some time. He held scholarship offers from multiple schools around the country and chose the Tigers over top programs such as 'Bama, Georgia, FSU, LSU, South Carolina, Michigan State and many more.
Ruffin is a long, rangy corner with above average speed and quickness and great instincts. He tackles well for his positions and should compete for playing time immediately.
