Myron Burton, a big Class of 2014 receiver and Auburn commit since October, made his pledge to the Tigers official on Wednesday, National Signing Day. Burton faxed in his National Letter of Intent, making him a member of Gus Malzahn's program.
Burton, out of Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Ga., is rated as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports composite, and listed as the 973-best player in the current recruiting cycle. He's ranked No. 76 among all running backs and No. 89 among players from the state of Georgia. He committed to Auburn on Oct. 12 2013, and never wavered..
Thomas stands 6'2.5 and weighs in at 203 pounds, and he runs a reported 4.59-second 40-yard dash. He held scholarship offers from seven schools around the country and chose the Tigers over programs such as Vanderbilt, Clemson and Wisconsin.
Burton doesn't have the best speed for a receiver, and the Tigers are pretty deep at the position right now. However, with his size, he should be valuable in the future, if for no other reason than his ability to block on the perimeter.
