Raashed Kennion, a rangy defensive end in the Class of 2014 and a longtime Auburn commit, made his pledge to the Tigers official on Wednesday, National Signing Day. Kennion faxed in his National Letter of Intent, making him a member of Gus Malzahn's program.
Kennion, out of First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Fla., is rated as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports composite, and listed as the 1,505th-best player in the current recruiting cycle. He's ranked No. 73 among all weak-side defensive ends and No. 214 among players from the state of Florida. He committed to Auburn on July 17, 2013, and never wavered.
Thomas stands an impressive 6'6, but weighs in at just 228 pounds, and he runs a reported 4.65-second 40-yard dash. He held scholarship offers from nine schools around the country and chose the Tigers over programs such as Cincinnati, Iowa State and Pittsburgh.
Thomas needs to put on weight to make it on the defensive line in college, but his length will no doubt give him an advantage.
