De'Shaun Davis, a solid linebacker in the Class of 2014 and a longtime Auburn commit, made his pledge to the Tigers official on Wednesday, National Signing Day. Davis faxed in his National Letter of Intent, making him a member of Gus Malzahn's program.
Davis, out of Vigor High School in Mobile, is rated as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports composite, and listed as the 475th-best player in the current recruiting cycle. He's ranked No. 21 among all running backs and No. 15 among players from the state of Alabama. He committed to Auburn on April 17, 2013, and never really wavered.
Davis stands 6' and weighs in at 225 pounds. He held scholarship offers from 11 schools around the country and chose the Tigers over top programs such as Clemson, Florida State, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee and UCLA.
A little small at linebacker, he would probably fit in nicely at the "star" position, but it's possible that he could bulk up once he gets on a college strength program.
