3* OL Mike Horton Signs with Auburn

This was the first surprise of the day

Student Sports Flickr

Mike Horton was a long-time Florida commit who visited Auburn last weekend. He's a 6'4, 310 lbs offensive tackle from Lakeside High School in Atlanta, GA.

Horton committed to the Gators in July of 2014. He made official visits to Florida and Tennessee before visiting Auburn on the final recruiting weekend of the season. Auburn offered him recently, and this morning he flipped from the Gators. He also had offers from Tennessee, Alabama, and Boston College.

I think it's fairly safe to say that Horton joining the class means Auburn knows it will not end up with 5* OL Martez Ivey. Horton was seen as a back-up plan by those watching recruiting news over the past few weeks. Whatever the case, he's a Tiger now, and we welcome him!

Make yourself at home, Mike. I guarantee the weather is nicer here than it is in Gainesville!

War Eagle!
