BOOM! After a long and tough recruitment, 4* 6’4, 226 lbs Defensive End Markaviest Bryant of Crisp County, GA has committed to sign with the Auburn Tigers in a signing day ceremony.
It’s only fitting since he’s known as BigCat.
This is the second straight year that Rodney Garner has snagged a player UGA badly wanted on the defensive line. Last year, it was 5* DT Derick Brown.
Auburn didn't put together the largest defensive line class this year, but then it didn’t have to. Last year’s haul was pretty spectacular. Still, though, getting a quality player like Bryant is huge. Auburn has to replace Carl Lawson and they need more rush ends to back up the rest - particularly with Byron Cowart moving inside - so Bryant was always a major target.
LSU made a late push for Bryant, but the main competition was always Georgia. In the end, Bryant chose the Tigers.
HIGHLIGHTS
It’s easy to see why this guy was so highly sought after.
Will Bryant contribute immediately? He’ll have every opportunity to do that. As I noted above, Auburn needs pass rushers. He also helps Auburn in the recruiting class rankings, of course.
War Eagle! Welcome to the Plains!
