Today, we move into the games where Auburn players scored 26 points over the last 10 years. We start today at #41 with Frankie Sullivan.
Total Points: 26
Date: January 16, 2013
Opponent: at Arkansas
Final Score: Arkansas 88 Auburn 80 2OT
2012-2013 was a not a good year for Auburn Basketball, as the Tigers went just 9-23 on the season. But Auburn came into this game on a winning streak, having won 3 in a row over Florida State, LSU and at South Carolina. The Tigers were 2-0 in the SEC before travelling to Fayetteville.
Sullivan nearly had a double-double on the night recording 9 rebounds to go with his 26 points. The senior from Uniontown, Alabama, played 48 out of a possible 50 minutes, went 9-20 from the field, 5-11 from 3-point range and 3-7 from the free throw line. The game went to Overtime after Sullivan missed a 3 with 10 seconds but an offensive rebound led to Allan Payne getting another 3-pointer chance to tie the game and he made it sending this one to OT. At the end of OT, Frankie had a 3-point attempt from half court to try and win the game but it hit the backboard to send the game to a second OT which was dominated by the Hogs.
Unfortunately for Auburn, the Tigers won just 1 more game that season, but it was against Alabama in a game they won 49-37.
Tomorrow at #40, we’ll talk about a game in February 2014 where one Auburn Tiger had a valiant effort at home against the Kentucky Wildcats.
