Looks like the AP voters brought Auburn and Bruce Pearl some coal for their Christmas stockings.

The new top ten of the AP Poll looks this way:
- Duke
- Michigan
- Tennessee
- Virginia
- Kansas
- Nevada
- Gonzaga
- Michigan State
- Florida State
- Virginia Tech
Auburn has fallen to #12 in the rankings, right behind Texas Tech after a week that saw the Tigers lose at NC State and slip by Murray State at home. Other SEC teams in the rankings include Kentucky at #16, rising after they beat North Carolina in Chicago, and Mississippi State at #19 after they improved to 11-1 this week.
The Tigers likely won’t drop any further due to this week’s slate, which only has North Florida on Saturday, but then they’ll have more than a week off before conference play begins at Ole Miss on January 9th. In that time, there will be a chance for more teams to face turmoil as other conferences get into league play. Auburn will just have to sit by and watch the inevitable chaos ensue around the country.
