Pretty, pretty, pretty good!

There was one particularly historic night by a former Auburn running back, the Chosen One did his usual thing, and the other highlights from around the league:

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD

CAROLINA 31, CINCINNATI 21

Panthers - Cam Newton (QB) led the Panthers to a win with 15-24 passing for 150 yards, 2 TDs, and 36 rushing yards along with 2 more touchdowns.

Bengals - Carl Lawson (DE) had one tackle on the afternoon, while C.J. Uzomah (TE) caught two passes for 19 yards and a touchdown.

WASHINGTON 31, GREEN BAY 17

Packers - Jermaine Whitehead (S) had one tackle in the Packers’ loss.

NEW ORLEANS 43, ATLANTA 37 (OT)

Falcons - Josh Harris (LS) successfully snapped on three extra point attempts for Matt Bryant in the loss to the Saints.

KANSAS CITY 38, SAN FRANCISCO 27

Chiefs - Dee Ford (LB) had one tackle in KC’s win over the 49ers.

NEW YORK GIANTS 27, HOUSTON 22

Texans - Angelo Blackson (DT) had three tackles and a sack of Eli Manning in the loss.

TENNESSEE 9, JACKSONVILLE 6

Jaguars - Corey Grant (RB) ran for 11 yards on six carries in the Jags’ tepid offensive performance on Sunday.

CHICAGO 16, ARIZONA 14

Cardinals - Josh Bynes (LB) was second on the team with seven tackles in the loss.

Bears - Cody Parkey (K) hit field goals from 20, 41, and 43 yards in the win.

LOS ANGELES RAMS 35, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS 23

Rams - Blake Countess (DB) covered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown in LA’s win over the Chargers.

DETROIT 26, NEW ENGLAND 10

Patriots - Jonathan Jones (CB) made four tackles in the loss.

Lions - Kerryon Johnson (RB) had the biggest night for a Detroit running back SINCE BEFORE THE KICK SIX. He was the first back to hit the 100-yard mark in nearly five years for the Lions, and he did it relatively easily against the Patriots’ defense.

Any time you get kudos from one of the all-time greats, you had a pretty solid night.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH

PITTSBURGH 30, TAMPA BAY 27

Buccaneers - Peyton Barber (RB) had eight carries for 33 yards, while Carlton Davis (CB) recorded three tackles and was given primary responsibility of covering Antonio Brown (Brown was limited to six catches for 50 yards and a touchdown).
