You can all plan your Labor Day weekend schedule now.
Auburn will kickoff against Oregon on Saturday, August 31st at 6:30 pm CST/7:30 pm EST.
The Tigers and Ducks will be a part of a college football Saturday that includes such HUGE matchups as Alabama vs Duke in Atlanta, South Carolina vs North Carolina in Charlotte, and Georgia vs Vanderbilt in Nashville. Everyone else in the SEC takes on a mid-major foe that weekend, save for Florida. The Gators will be in Orlando to open the season against Miami in Week Zero (August 24th).
Nationally, Auburn vs Oregon may be the best game of the weekend. Other games around the country include:
- Georgia Tech @ Clemson - 8/29
- Florida State vs Boise State (Jacksonville) - 8/31
- Notre Dame @ Louisville - 9/2
- Houston @ Oklahoma - 9/1
Of those games, it’s unlikely that both teams will be ranked inside the top twenty. In Arlington, we may very well see Auburn face the first of several top ten teams on its schedule. The Tigers will have to play Oregon, LSU, Florida, Texas A&M, Georgia, and Alabama, all of whom have been ranked in the top ten in one preseason poll or another. Beat the Ducks and you start off the year the right way before two straight easy home games.
